Among them, the wire drawing machine is one of the most basic and important production equipment. In the production process of cold drawn steel wire, the heating of the steel wire is the bottleneck restricting the production capacity of the wire drawing machine and the quality of the steel wire product, which directly affects the drawing speed and the performance of the steel wire.

Therefore, in the steel wire drawing process, solving the cooling problem of the steel wire is the key to improving the drawing speed and the performance of the steel wire.

  1. The main factors affecting the performance of the wire drawing machine

During the drawing process of the dry wire drawing machine, the plastic deformation of the steel wire will generate a large amount of heat. When the temperature rise of the steel wire exceeds 160°C, it is easy to cause aging embrittlement. The strength of the steel wire is high, and the fatigue strength of torsion and bending is low, which directly affects The quality of the finished steel wire.

60%~70% of the drawing heat of the wire drawing machine should be taken away by the reel cooling. However, with the prolongation of the use time, due to the influence of factors such as water quality, long-term contact with water on the inner wall of the reel, and the environment of the wire drawing site, the inner wall of the reel is prone to rust, scale, and slime.

At the same time, the annular water spray pipe inside the reel is corroded and blocked, the water volume is reduced, and the heat exchange rate is greatly reduced. In order to ensure the quality of the steel wire, the speed of the wire drawing machine is reduced to reduce the accumulation of drawing heat.

The result is that the effective utilization rate of the drawing equipment is reduced, and the unit power consumption of the finished product of the wire drawing machine is also greatly increased.

Therefore, the heat exchange of the reel is the main factor affecting the performance of the wire drawing machine.

Second, the main problems of the wire drawing machine

Our company has a total of three production branches with wire drawing process, and this transformation is a wire drawing machine. Common issues are as follows:

(1) There are rust and scale on the inner wall of the wire drawing machine, and the heat transfer efficiency is low.

(2) The return water of the circulating water used for the wire drawing machine is discharged into the ditch and is easily polluted. The reel cooling water flow is insufficient or even blocked.

(3) 20% to 40% of the design product line height of the reel of the wire drawing machine cannot be fully utilized.

(4) The air cooling function of some wire drawing has failed.

(5) Steel wire temperature, water temperature, and water pressure cannot be monitored.
